one hundred thirty-seven

1933 Ford Street Rod
asheboro hosted it's first "cruis'n" today.  loads of classic cars displayed in the downtown.  i set up an easel and picked out a car to render that didn't have it's hood and trunk popped.

folks stop for a chat.  the weather was breezy and comfortable.  might be a snap or a vid floatin' around the tubes of the event.

when i finished the drawing (3" x 5 1/2") and showed it to the owner he told me a few things about his car.  it's one of the oldest hot rods in north carolina.  it has a 63' buick engine with 137,000 original miles.  he's driven to canada.  the fella's name is "tom kat."

(and here's a video of the event brought to you by the folks at www.asheborolive.com. on the website scroll to the "cruis'n asheboro 04_23_2011" . sketchin' away at 6:47 . . .)
