one hundred sixty-eight

Long & Les

envelope sketches & El Barrito
Greensboro NC's Center for Visual Artists held their opening reception for "The Sketchbook Collective" on Friday, Jan. 6.  The New Year is a great time for this kind of show -- the walls were covered with creative residue.  Some polished, some rough and raw, some WTF -- but a great all around art show of "sketches."  They even had actual sketchbooks to thumb through.  Many were donated by artists, others were passed from artist to artist and each added a scrawling as the book came to them.  Several of these books were raffled off to the public.

In addition to representin' with several pen & inks in the aforementioned raffled sketchbook, envelope sketches from a bacon waffle morning at Tex & Shirley's, and one of a good art friend, Barrett (see lower left) I got the opportunity to say thank you to a former art teacher, Mrs. Carol Long (upper left).  She taught 7:30am AP Studio Art at Greensboro's Weaver Center back in the day.
