two hundred sixty-one

Let's add a little ink to the flesh.

The client asked me to interpret his thoughts into a personal brand/image/logo.  He knew what he wanted and trusted me to interpret his ideas into a tattoo design.  He wanted a bicycle tire.  He wanted a repeating stylized letter "A" in the tire tread.  He wanted it to look like a mobius strip (that's a continuing one-sided surface, kiddies). One color ink and two scoops of Les III freshness.

And the fun begins.  The client gave me the parameters.  He then took off and let me do my thing.  It now becomes a visual process and a logic puzzle.  We had several more consultations and reviews.  A few tweaks later and the illustration is finished.  We shook hands -- then the client selected an ink artist who was up for the ink task.

Rob Hunt at Forever Tattoo in Asheville jumped into the mix.  We're old art pals and it took this commission to another level.  We know each others' creative voices and even painted a collaborative art project back when.  Now we're at it again.  Rob knew exactly where to place the tattoo and added a few more bits of knowledge to insure the design would be tiiiiiight.
Rob even exclaimed of the project "that's the only tattoo he'll ever need.  It's perfect for him."

The end result is this funky fresh ink that'll last forever.

Thank you for your discerning taste, Andy.  Keep on brewing.
