-- same Saturday, same sunshine, different scene. The afternoon came and went and the evening showed up all hot and steamy. It was a perfect night to celebrate with a friend who was moving on to a better place for hipsters -- Durham. So me and three friends dressed up for the upcoming Asheboro Zoo annual charity auction. And made a quick party stop to hug our friend Kelly.

The party animals headed out for the Zoo. 350 people maybe? Idaknow. It was a lot of people. Good food. Good people. Good cause. And they put the whole she-bang under a tent. Felt like a safari -- complete with desert heat. Emelie captured the atmosphere. There was no cool to be found beneath shade.

The Les III piece contributed to the cause was one from the "Body Music" series -- the drum major and the ballerina use their bodies to interpret music. This ballerina is called "One". And she's on point in the detail. She was in the silent auction. Someone really liked her and qualified her worth rather quickly (thank you). And the item winner is giving the painting as a present to her momma. So sweet.
