two hundred fifty-two

a/perture owner Lawren Desai (left) & Les III with poster
It's been a whole year of celebration. Winston-Salem's a/perture cinema -- a wonderful place to check out indie films and other artful movie experiences is celebrating 5 years.  Throughout 2014 they've screened area artists' favorite movies, and tasked each artist to re-envision the movie posters in a limited amount of color.  Then Vahalla Studios hand cranked each poster in limited edition runs (available here).  How's that for an anniversary present?

Friday, December 5 is the opening reception for the December exhibition at Delurk -- featuring the 14 movie posters AKA Screen Club.  The exhibition will include the original artworks, the movie poster prints, and the preliminary sketches/designs from the artists.  The original works of art will be auctioned off too.

The public reception begins at 7p at Delurk Gallery.
Click on Delurk's website for a list of all the artists.
Here's the poster I did (Willy Wonka).

See you there!
