That's Cora Fisher. She's the new curator at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA). The museum over in Winston-Salem, NC is known for challenging exhibitions and up-and-coming curators. Here Cora is visiting with folks for an evening interview at Krankies Coffee, also in Winston.
She's being interviewed by a lady from the Sawtooth Center (another great art space in Winston-Salem). I got inspired by the story Cora was weaving and the sketch started coming. With that concentration I lost some of the interview dialogue (including the name of the interviewer). But great questions were asked and answered.
Cora comes from a family of middle eastern Europe performers. In America they squatted all over NYC and that gypsy life was pretty much Cora's entry into the arts. Incredible. She studied at Cooper Union -- and continued to share with us discerning stories that inform her creativity.
Here's a snap of the full sketch from the inspiring evening.
