"Pump That Muse Sick" (far right) is one of the many included in the Randolph Art Guild's 31st Annual Juried Art Show. This year's Juror, Will Taylor is a faculty member at Winston-Salem's School of the Arts. He selected a great show. These survey shows can be tricky, but the variety is great and the quality is up there. 'Pump' received an Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all the winners. Y'all might want to see this show. It's up through June 25th. And there's a chance to meet Will at the Lunch & Learn on Tuesday June 25th. More info may be found at www.randolphartsguild.com.
"Pump That Muse Sick" is from the devil series. "The Lighter Side of Satan" is the official title of this body of work and explores the Dark Lord as a social outcast with dork-ish quirks. In 'Pump' we find Satan is a musician, playing marimbas made of skulls. The mallets resonate with the listener. The listener is sickly in complexion, though in heaven with the tune. Pump that music.
