Jennifer, Les, & Art |
Thursday, March 15th we traveled 'down east' to Kinston for the 31st Annual Competitive Exhibition. According to the Kinston Community Council for the Arts website, "one hundred individual artists from across North America entered the
competition with two-hundred and sixty-five works. Ninety-eight works
were marked as accepted and are displayed in our Hampton & Permanent
Collection Galleries." The show was really vibrant and eclectic -- furniture, cast sculpture, mixed media, as well as plenty of two-d. The juror was Jennifer Dasal, Assistant Curator for the North Carolina Museum of Art. She picked a variety of genres - both three-d and two-d as award winners. It was a great selection of the caliber of work in the show. -- glad to be a part of it.
