two hundred thirty-seven

Let's eat the giant lollipops and mushrooms and sing songs.
"Hold your breath.  Make a wish.  Count to three".  These word are uttered from the fabulous Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka in the 1971 film cult classic.  It's one of my favorite flicks.  The tunnel scene always freaks me out.

A/perture Cinema is celebrating their 5th year anniversary as the place in the piedmont of North Carolina to take in a fine art movie, independent releases and apparently favorite local artists' favorite films.

A/perture's 2014 celebration series is called "Screen Club" and features 14 local artists' pick of their favorite movie.  Each selected movie is screened every third Wednesday during the year.  But that's not all, the public also gets to enjoy each artists' spin on their movie with a fresh take on the movie in the form of poster art.  Yep, so here's a detail of my take on Willy Wonka.  And that's not all -- each movie poster is being printed up at the celebrated Kansas City's Vahalla Studios and will be for sale in a limited run of 50 prints.  Each one is hand signed by the artist.  And if you miss yer chance to nab one of the ultra cool posters, you have a chance to purchase the original poster art.

Say what?

Yeppers, true believers, come December 2014 during A/perture's anniversary bash the highest bidder gets to take home the original poster art.
